The face of success in the 1990s, Janecky was a Czech wizard who left no one in the ice hockey rink cold.
The Pardubice-raised Forward played first in SaiPa before his transfer to Jokerit for the 1991–92 season. Altogether Janecky led Jokerit as the Centre Forward of the first line for eight seasons. During these years he won four Finnish Elite League titles in 1992, -94, -96 and -97 as well as a silver in -95, a bronze in -98, and two European Championships in 1995 and -96.
Janecky is the most successful foreign player at Finnish national level, and the second most successful Jokerit player ever with his 355 played matches and 99+279=378 total points. In playoff games, he is the all-time number one point scorer for the club with 66 games and 22+67=89 points.
He also played in his own national team in four IIHF World Championships and two Olympics, taking IIHF World Championships bronze three times.
