Turku-born Henry Leppä came to Jokerit for the 1969–70 season and stayed with the team for 11 years. He is the third best point scorer of all time for Jokerit in Suomi-sarja and Finnish Elite League.
The winger finished his career with 363 matches and 179+168=347 points as the all-time third best goal scorer for the club.
Leppä was the team captain for Jokerit during the seasons 1979–81 before ending his career. He holds the 11th place in club's all-time matches played statistics. For Jokerit he won gold in 1972–73, and silver in 1970–71. During the championship season Leppä was chosen to the All Stars line-up of the League.
In the national team the winger played 117 international “A” matches with 29+26=55 points. Leppä represented Finland in 1976 Innsbruck Olympics and in four World Cups. In 1996 he was knighted as the “Hockey Lion of Finland” number 104.
